The Truth Shall Set You Free: Part 3 Twin Flames

Hello All! Thank you for reading this post. To recap: Part 1 of this entry is my reaction to Netflix and Amazon Prime Documentaries that involve Twin Flames Universe, my experience while in the group, and life experiences that led me there. Part 2 had my concluding remarks about it, my present spiritual journey, and the origins of twin flames dating back to ancient history. This entry will summarize what some spiritual teachers feel twin flames are, and my opinon on it. When it comes to twin flames most spiritual teachers believe one of two ideas: twin flames are each one half of the same soul, or they are of the same soul blueprint/have same soul DNA. Another commonality among the twin flame theory is that twin flames have an intense soul bond that cannot be broken once they meet each other in 3D physical reality. It is also said there is a magnetic attraction between them. Some spiritual circles believe we all mirror each others' strengths and weaknesses to a certain degree because we are all interconnected as one consciousness. However, your twin flame is said to be your greatest mirror. IE they can mirror Spirit's divine love for you, or your greatest triggers. These triggers are merely wounds either from childhood and/or past lives. Healing these triggers will help guide a twin flame towards spiritual ascension. Basically, destruction of the ego by transmuting energy so that the individual is in tune with their Higher Self.
In addition to the triggers; there are usually obstacles both individuals of the pair need to face to be together. Sometimes these obstacles are in the form of physical distance (living hours apart, sometimes different states or countries), it could be a significant age difference, cultural differences, religious differences and sometimes when the pair meets one or both are in another relationship or even another marriage. There is also debate as to whether twin flames are destined to be together romantically at all. Some spiritual teachers believe some twins may remain friends/colleagues and others believe if you meet in this lifetime you are destined to be in a romantic relationship: once you reach a certain level of energetic harmonization/frequency or "union." Some spiritual teachers believe twins have reincarnated over many lifetimes, but there may be debate on this. Those who believe in the 144,000 Twin Flame theory subscribe to the notion that: twin flames were reincarnated among multiple lifetimes, and once they learn their soul lessons they are reunited with their other half. Most spiritual teachers also believe twin flames exist for a mission/life purpose to assist mankind. There is debate on what this mission actually is. Some believe it is to help elevate the vibration of the collective energy of the planet, and for other spiritual teachers the mission can be something more specific tied to each twin flame pair. Some spiritual teachers also believe twin flames have a telepathic bond. Messages can be experienced through dreams, songs, signs & synchronicities etc.
Another mutually agreed upon characteristic of a twin flame relationship is a separation phase. Twin Flames as a pair generally go through a period of separation in order to reflect inward and heal. The separation is usually spurred by a trigger or b/c one of the pair felt the energy was too intense. The separation can manifest in a variety of ways: no communication at all, periodic communication, consistent communication but no physical contact, periodic communication and periodic physical contact etc. The time frame the separation phase lasts also varies. Another popular phrase among twin flames is "runner-chaser dynamic." I personally prefer to think of this as avoidant vs. anxious attachment styles, so I won't get into that here.
To conclude, do I believe in twin flames? Yes. Do I feel like I have found mine? Yes. Do I think it's the person for whom I joined TFAS for? No. And thank God for that. Because the truth is, I now empathize with why people would go through great lengths to contact/be near their twin flame. But this is an inner healing journey.
